Muncy Historical Society to host the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra for a second year with a “Pops at Pepper Street” free concert

MUNCY — Under the baton of Music Director/Conductor Gerardo Edelstein, the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra returns to Muncy to perform a variety of musical selections at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6. The outdoor concert location is 232 Pepper Street, Muncy Creek Township, Muncy.

WSO will perform a “West Side Story” medley, a waltz from Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin,” Johann Strauss’ jaunty, high-spirited “Tritsch Tratsch Polka,” Brahms’ lively “Hungarian Dance No. 5,” John Williams’ music from “Harry Potter,” and a Beatles medley. The orchestra will also feature “America the Beautiful” and Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever.”

As the sun sets, relax, enjoy and share in the fun-filled, community-oriented public experience of this live, outdoor concert. Muncy Historical Society will provide free popcorn and the WSO will have its 2016-2017 season brochure available and WSO members stand ready to discuss the details for their upcoming 50th anniversary celebration season.
